Lyrics

THE GRAVEYARD Words and music by Andru Branch © 2018

Life rough in a de Graveyard
Life tough in a de Graveyard
Life rough in a de Graveyard
Life tough in a de Graveyard

The herbalists have all been tried
And burned alive
At the stake they’re tied

Better run for your life
Like a bat outta hell
As the shiny black hearse descends on its kill

Children having kids with nothing to teach
Bitter taste of bile
From nothing to eat

Youth turn to crime to buy a dime
And bide their time
Until they die

CHORUS

There’s the Grave Robber
And the Grim Reaper
Whose blackened heart she stole

Now the blackheart man
Does what he can
To save his decrepit soul

Said the unwed Bride
To the undead Groom
As she dug by the light of the silvery moon

Ashes to ashes
And dust to dust
In Death do I put my trust

CHORUS

So the zombies came
And ate the brains
Of those living on top of the hill

The working stiffs
Systematically stripped
Of their decaying moral fibre

Like a disease
The recently deceased
Ego tries to capture the hill

Now the lifeless corpse
Without remorse
Returns again to the source
